Discovering Uphams Corner & the Strand Theatre in 2013
Jan 24, 2013

Uphams Corner is in the process of changing and revitalizing. The
Strand Theatre is hosting excellent performances, many of them free.
The community is much safer than it used to be. Two quality restaurants are worth the
visit and many others close by.
The City of Boston Public Works Infrastructure Improvement Project will create a new look and feel
to the community in about one year.
2013 is a prime time to begin discovering Uphams Corner and the
Strand.
Looking Down at Uphams Corner from the
ISS
Jan 23, 2013
At 8000+ residents strong, Uphams Corner
walks boldly in the sands of (Boston's) time.
But from the view of the International Space Station, we barely
exist. Giacomo Sardelli's video, 'Further Up
Yonder,' reminds us that all of us can make a
difference.
Uphams Corner can become a model welcoming community without
borders - one that cares for each and every person who lives and
works here.
That is our greatest wish for 2013 - that we wear an enduring
sense of purpose that will make our community shine.

New Years : "I Promise to Promote my
Strengths and what I love Doing!!"
Jan 1, 2013
For the new year, plan to emphasize your strengths, not
your weaknesses.
- What am I good at? What do I love doing?
- How can I make sure I thank myself always and continue to
shine in what I do?
Rather than trying to fix "your problems" for the new
year, plan to ramp up your personal energy by working with your
personal strengths.
Focusing on problems and issues - while popular - is not
sustainable. Strengths, assets and uniqueness bring us joy
and the energy to improve our lives.
Focus on the good - issues, problems and complaints
will quietly fade away.
