Dorchester is honored to welcome the Boston Classical Orchestra to help us celebrate the holiday season at the Strand. 
"A Dorchester
Christmas" is an opportunity for this well-established chamber
orchestra to share the Strand's legendary stage with other local
performing groups.
It's also a chance for those in attendance to
become familiar with the high-quality sound and experience the BCO is known to deliver.
Jessica writes: "The BCO is such a hidden treasure of
Boston. "
On December 6, 2010 there will waft our way the mellifluous sounds of
the bowed strings, the wood winds, the brass, the keyboards and the
percussion, all joining together to raise our spirits for a wonderful
holiday season.

Food on the Common
Two years ago Pilgrim Church began its weekly
pilgrimage to the Boston Common -- Saturday morning -- hot and
nourishing food for the people gathered and clothing as well.
 This is a volunteer-based effort and the real success lies with the
people dedicated to rising early to make sure food can be served
downtown by 9am.
Well established now, the Pilgrim Church van acts like a lighthouse to
the early morning residents of the Boston Common. The moment
someone spies the van, the people begin their migration to where the
tables will be and start forming a line.
Pilgrim volunteers serve a delicious array of food that appears to be
deeply appreciated by the people who hungrily gobble it down.
