Project Right Offers VIP Neighborhood Mobilizer Training


Project RightThe Mobilizers are a group of residents that come together and lead a community response when violence occurs in their neighborhood.

Why VIP Mobilizers are needed?  To support making a change in the perception of violence and to communicate that “Violence will not be tolerated or accepted in our neighborhoods.”

What is VIP?  The Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (VIP) is a community organizing violence prevention strategy.   VIP coalitions work to ensure residents have the knowledge and resources to develop community initiatives that prevent violence over the long term.  VIP coalitions bring together residents and other community leaders to address violence

  • Must live in one of the VIP catchment areas
  • Required to attend (3) 90 minute orientation and training session
  • Participate in community responses and conduct assigned tasks
  • Respect team and community members
  • Flexibility is a plus

  • Adhere to assigned task of the response
  • Keep Coalition Coordinator updated regarding status and assigned role
  • Work collaboratively with community residents and agencies
