The Strand Theatre

A 40-minute play of interwoven dramas about teenagers in trouble, "Know the Law!" is designed specifically for a young urban audience.  Teen actors present authentic scenes in an effort to teach their peers how a better unerstanding of MA law can help them make informed choices and stay out of trouble.

A discussion between the actors, the audience and a Boston Police Officer follows each performance.
play written for and performed by Boston teenagers, directed by Naheem Garcia.

Know the Law!" is a program of the Huntington Theatre's Department of Education & Community Outreach and is produced in collaboration with Youth and Police in Partnership (YPP), a community-based program of United Methodist Urban Services that seeks to improve relationships between young people and the police.

Urban Safari 2011 - BBQ Bash will be held on June 22nd at the Franklin Park Zoos Barnyard.  The event is a celebration of UCMS successes and a fundraiser to support the year ahead.

With music, animals, great food, and more the Urban Safari is a great deal of fun.  The funds that are raised support UCMS newly articulated mission: to improve the quality of life of the Upham's Corner community by helping the neighborhood's businesses thrive.

This year Urban Safari is especially important with the exciting changes occurring within the organization - a new strategic plan, a new storefront office, and new leadership.  Tickets as well as sponsorship and event info are available at our website http://www.uphamscorner.org/safari11.html
