Hi Nancy,
This is fantastic! And your photos are amazing. I especially love the wide shot of everyone. There were a ton of people there but it makes it look like even more. You are talented with that camera!

Dear Nancy,

I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful event at Pilgrim Church during the Dorchester Open Studios.
It was a real pleasure and honor for me to be part of it this year. I appreciated much your poignant question and observation  with regards to my work. I hope you enjoyed my words and music. I would love to know your thoughts on the CD if your time permits.

Looking forward to future collaborations.

Sincerely,  U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo

First of all, thank you for this online local "paper". It has all the things I want to know about what's happening in my neighborhood that doesn't involve murder and mayhem...the good stuff that doesn't make the news.

Upham's Corner Youth Writes Legislation
Wed May 18 12:14:07 2011

I loved Nancy Conrad's article on Check Casher Agencies. There is one problem which detracts from this important issue, and reflects poorly on Alexandra Knowles and Nancy Conrad, and that is the poor use of grammar in the article. Could you please make corrections? It is such significant work!
Thank you!

Meg Howard

Response from Editor:  We thanked Meg for her close attention to detail.  UC News is a one-person operation and sometimes we "miss" the obvious.  Some corrections were made based on the comments.

Note:  UC News has made an editorial decision to engage in some shortened conversational tone (less formality) as part of the writing style. According to MS Word, expressions like "Her response?" are considered grammatically incorrect but we happen to like them.

Nancy,
It was great to hear the youth voices, in their own words what jobs mean to them.
And the photos tell it all on the job fair.

Thank you,

Nancy,

I apologize for a general lack of communication since our meeting at the Dudley Walk this summer.  I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that I think you're doing really well with your newspaper. Keep doing your thing because the community definitely needs it.

There are some great points in your article, but there are also some very misleading errors and some unfair presumptions. But you are very correct on other points. Please know that I want Uphams Corner to be a success. I would love to meet with you and hear the issues that you have. Thanks

General - Issue #13Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 7:52 AM
Hi Nancy,

Thank you so much for a superb effort creating this newsletter. I no longer live in Upham's Corner, but some of my family still do. I have been receiving and reading the newsletter the last several months and find the topics/issues you are covering very relevant and worthy of attention. This is something Upham's Corner has needed for a long time and was discussed at a few neighborhood meetings several years ago. You should be proud of this accomplishment and I hope other residents, UCWNA and other groups are giving you feedback and support.

Dear Nancy,

I  sincerely apologize for not getting back to you sooner.   I loved the article and photos you made from our performance on November 20  at the Strand theater.  I am impressed of the detail and amount of time you put in to give us this great review and record.  I appreciate all your support. I hope we will keep in touch in the future.  Chinese New year is approaching. Wish you and yours will have a great new Spring and Happy New Year

Warm regards,
