Hyde Jackson Square Main Street’s Open House
When: Thursday, December 6, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Where: Gail’s Cafe, 268 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain
Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Hyde Jackson Square Main Street invite the
community to an Open House and Holiday Window Stroll to celebrate Hyde
Jackson Square Main Street’s work to strengthen the commercial business
district in Hyde Square and Jackson Square in the Jamaica Plain
neighborhood of Boston.
The event will be a great opportunity for residents, business owners,
property owners, and representatives of neighborhood organizations to
talk to staff, the Board of Directors, and volunteers of Hyde Jackson
Square Main Street about the state of the neighborhood.
“The commercial business district is critical to maintaining a healthy
and livable neighborhood and Hyde Jackson Square Main Street is central
to this,” Jason LaGorga, President of the Board of Directors, said.
Hyde Jackson Square Main Street would like to hear from attendees about
their assessment of the neighborhood and any suggestions as to how the
neighborhood can be strengthened through business development,
promotions, and events to encourage residents and non-residents alike
to support businesses in the neighborhood.
The first place winner of the district’s holiday window decorating contest will also be announced at the Open House.
Centre Street Holiday Stroll
Following the Open House, staff will lead attendees for a casual walk up Centre Street to view the festive holiday storefronts.
The event is free and open to all. Light food will be provided.
