The Fairmount Indigo Planning Initiative is a two year study announced
in February 2012. Working in partnership with community
stakeholders and neighborhood groups, the planning initiative will look
at short and long term strategies for improving capital investment and
job access along the MBTA Fairmount Indigo commuter line.
Connecting Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan and Hyde Park to South
Station, the 9.2 mile MBTA commuter rail will impact over 100,000
people who live within a half mile of the line.
The initiative is led by Boston Redevelopment Authorita (BRA), in
conjunction with City departments and is the BRA's larges planning
study to date.
