Visitors for the Opening Day program were excited and hopeful about the future of education, as this brave
experiment in Boston Public Schools Charter site will soon
foretell. Some of the parents, workers and volunteers have come
from backgrounds in which they have always cared deeply for the future of the
children and who feel empowered to make sure the Dudley School becomes a
model that spreads to all other neighborhood schools as well.
Program speakers included Christine Landry, Principal, John Barros,
Executive Director DSNI, Mitchell Chester, MA Commissioner of
Education, Dr. Carol Johnson, Superintendent, Boston Public Schools,
and Jesse Solomon, Executive Director of BPE (originally known as
Boston Plan for Excellence).
