Holiday Wrap-Up Awards Dinner
Max MacCarthy, executive director of Uphams Corner Main Street, is
inviting us to join Main Street to honor the businesses that
participated in the Mayor's Deck the City contest. Dinner will be
provided.

On the night of December 4, 2012, the Main Street Promotions Committee
spent several hours walking the entire length of the Uphams Corner
business district, photographing the businesses that had decorated for
the holidays and rating them on their efforts and results.
Committee members: Max MacCarthy, Georgia Titonis, Antonio Barros
and Nancy Conrad.
Certificates will be given to business participants as well as awards
to the top three businesses that decorated the best: L&M Bargain (1), Tran Jewelry (2) and Nueva Imagen (3).

City-Wide Deck the Windows Results
On December 20, 2012, Mayor Thomas M. Menino today announced the 1st,
2nd, and 3rd place winners of the Deck the Windows contest, awarding
bragging rights for a year to:
- Dorchester's Back to Life Chiropractic & Wellness
- West Roxbury's Fabutique
- Allston's Stingray.
The 2012 holiday season marks the 3rd annual iteration of this popular
event, a storefront decorating competition among 20 Boston Main Streets
districts with more than 400 small businesses competing. The
three-week-long contest began on November 20th, garnered the attention
of over 4000 voters during the public voting period, through which the
winners were determined.
