Mark
your calendar and do not forget to apply to the HOPELINE to be
considered for employment with the Boston Youth Fund for the summer of
2013!
Positive job experiences for youth are essential for teens, not just a
paycheck. A quality work experience allows the youth of
Boston an opportunity to discover and explore their talents while
contributing to the well being of their community.
Boston Youth Fund Goals
Employment opportunities must help youth in the following ways:
- Discover and develop new skills
- Gain an understanding about the workforce they will encounter in the future
- Acquire a sense of responsibility and teamwork
- Broaden their sense of community
- Form lasting relationships that carry beyond the summer months
The BYF seeks to hire as many Hopeline applicants as possible. Starting
each February, youth applicants register with the Hopeline for the
possibility of being offered a summer job. To see a list of sites that
offered HOPELINE jobs last summer, go to the website: http://www.bostonyouthfund.org
