Boston & Cambridge Retain #MassTalent
Joint Hearing of the City Councils
Thu, Mar 28, 2013 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Cahners Theater, Museum of Science,
11 Science Park Boston, MA 02114
The Cities of Boston and Cambridge invite you to a historic hearing of the Councils.
Boston and Cambridge are home to nearly 40 colleges and universities! That means a total of 160,000 students. Plus, 6.5% of the City of Boston's workforce are employed by these higher education institutions.
But guess what! Over 50% of college graduates leave Boston every year -- those are young, well educated leaders we need to keep in the Greater Boston area.
So what can city officials, private enterprises, non-profit institutions, and young people do to engage graduates so they thrive and shine?
World Class Cities Partnership, Boston City Councillor Tito Jackson and Cambridge City Councillor Leland Cheung invite you to take part in developing engagement strategies to build our Cities' futures, as well as those of our graduates.
Potential Speakers Include:
- Greg Bialecki, Mass. Secretary of Housing & Economic Development
- James Chisholm, New England Tech Project
- Gene Corbin, Harvard University
- Ken Elmore, Boston University
- Tim Rowe, Cambridge Innovation Center
- and representatives from:
- Flybridge Capital Partners
- Federal Reserve Bank of Boston
- Massachusetts Competitive Partnerships
- Mass Life Sciences Center
