According to an ArtsEmerson press release, "It is one of a series of initiatives aimed at realizing ArtsEmerson’s core belief that the arts belong to everyone, and underlines the importance of being in spaces where we authentically see and hear each other."

BeBe Winans, six-time Grammy winner, will be there.  He is in Boston to kick off the arrival of his musical, Born for This, with a complimentary program featuring the singer Athene Wilson, America's Got Talent contestant Kendall Ramseur, and others.

Many talented performers will be taking the stage at the Strand Theatre at the Monday gala - all of which is free.  The performers include Grammy Award-winners and others including nationally-renowned cellists.
"Born for This" premieres at the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre on June 15 and is based on the true story of BeBe Winans who left his famous Winans family in Detroit to join a televangelist network in North Carolina.  From there, he entered the world of R&B and is well known as an American gospel singer.

According to its website, ArtsEmerson brings contemporary theater to Boston and focuses on cultivating conversation through diverse productions and engaged audiences.
