SOWA Open Market

ArtPlace in Uphams Corner is planning an Advisory Group field trip on Sunday, May, 2013 from 1:30pm to 3:00pm to Boston's SOWA Open Market - this in preparation for piloting an Uphams Corner open market for local crafters, artists, musicians and other producers of local products.

The ArtPlace project in Uphams Corner is planning to pilot a small scale market in the late summer and early fall that will provide Uphams Corner area crafters, artists, musicians and other producers of local products with an opportunity to showcase and sell their work.

In preparation, the ArtPlace Advisory Group will be visiting a few markets to gather ideas, with a visit to Boston's SOWA Open Market on Monday May 5, 2013 being the first such visit.

Please RSVP and to let us know if you need a ride! Contact Liora Beer at beer@artmorpheus.org

About Boston's SOWA Market

Double the size it has been in previous years, this nationally recognized market is in its 10th season and includes an array of artists, craftspeople, designers and a farmers market comprised of 70 farm and specialty food vendors, and a Food Truck Court with 30 of Boston's best food trucks! There are a number of special offerings planned for this season including: a plant swap, a men's and women's clothing swap, a bake-off and more!

The SoWa district (South of Washington) is an area of Boston's South End famous for its art galleries, restaurants, shops and open markets. Centered around the artist studios located at 450-460 Harrison Ave, SoWa spans east-to-west from Massachusetts Avenue to East Berkeley Street, and north-to-south, from Washington Street to Albany Street.

SOWA is open every Sunday from May 5 thru Oct 27, 2013.
